People who need rubbish cleared want it gone soon and search on their phone. Google Ads puts you in front of them at that moment. The work is in keeping out the many searches that will never pay: council tips, free collections and skip hire.
Structure the account by job
Create one ad group for each type of clearance:
- House clearance
- Garden waste removal
- Office and commercial clearance
- Builders waste
- Garage, loft and shed clearance
- General rubbish removal
Each has its own keywords, ad and page, because a house clearance is a different job and price from a garden tidy-up.
Keywords
- "rubbish removal [town]", "rubbish clearance near me"
- "house clearance [town]", "house clearance company"
- "garden waste removal [town]"
- "office clearance [town]"
- "builders waste removal"
- "same day rubbish removal"
- "man and van rubbish removal"
Use phrase and exact match to begin.
Negative keywords
free, council, bulky waste, tip, recycling centre, opening times, permit, skip, skip hire, skip bags, scrap, scrap metal, cash for, charity collection, furniture donation, jobs, driver jobs, licence, how to, van hire, removals, house removals, moving
Review the search terms report weekly. This trade attracts more irrelevant searches than most.
Location and hours
Target the area you can reach at a profit. Choose people in the area. Run ads when someone can answer. Same-day searches go to whoever picks up.
Ads
Put the job and town in the headline. Then:
- Licensed waste carrier
- Price given before arrival
- Same-day or next-day, if true
- Labour included
Use call extensions and structured snippets listing the clearance types.
The page
- Tap-to-call button and a WhatsApp link at the top
- "Send photos for a price" as the main action
- Prices by load size
- Waste carrier registration number
- Reviews and photos of real jobs
Photo quotes work well. The customer gets a price in minutes and you avoid wasted visits.
Tracking
Track calls from ads, calls from the page, form submissions and WhatsApp clicks. Record which enquiries became jobs and their value, so you can see which job type pays best.
Bidding
Start with a strategy you control. Move to conversion-based bidding once the account records conversions steadily. Bid more for house and office clearances, which have a higher value than single items.
Keep out small jobs if you wish
State a minimum charge in the ad. Add "single item" and "one item" as negatives if you do not want them.
Common questions
How quickly do leads arrive? Often the day the ads go live, because the need is urgent.
Should I advertise on weekends? Yes, if you answer. Many households clear out at the weekend.
