How to Get More Pest Control Customers

How to get more pest control customers in the UK: win urgent domestic callouts on Google, then build recurring commercial contracts.

Pest control customers come in two types. Households call in a hurry when they find wasps, rats or bed bugs. Businesses sign contracts because they have to keep pests out. To grow, you need a way to win the first type today and a plan to build the second over time.

Be found when the household panics

A person who finds a rat in the kitchen searches on their phone and calls within minutes. Be in the three places they look:

  • Google Search ads for "[pest] control [town]" and "pest control near me"
  • Local Services Ads, where pest control is on Google's UK list
  • The map results, through a complete Google Business Profile with recent reviews

Answer the phone. In urgent trades the first business to pick up usually gets the job.

Give each pest its own page

Someone with wasps does not want to read about moles. Create a page for each main pest you treat: rats, mice, wasps, bed bugs, ants, fleas, cockroaches, moths, squirrels. Each page says what the treatment involves, how many visits it takes and what it costs, even as a starting price.

Show why you are safe to let in

  • BPCA or NPTA membership if you have it
  • Qualifications and insurance
  • Unmarked vans, if you offer them. Many customers ask.
  • Reviews that mention the pest and the result

Turn one-off jobs into repeat work

  • Offer a follow-up visit or guarantee period and explain it.
  • Sell proofing after a rodent job, so the problem does not return.
  • Offer households an annual plan if it suits your business.
  • Send a reminder before wasp season to past customers.

Win commercial contracts

Restaurants, takeaways, food producers, pubs, hotels, schools, care homes and landlords all need pest control on record. To reach them:

  • Build a commercial page with the sectors you serve and how reporting works
  • Run search ads for "commercial pest control [town]" and "pest control contract"
  • Contact letting agents and facilities managers directly
  • Ask commercial clients for a named review

One contract can be worth many one-off callouts over a year.

Track where customers come from

Use call tracking and ask each caller how they found you. Record which source brought contracts, not only calls.

Common questions

What is the fastest way to get pest control customers? Google Search ads and Local Services Ads, because people are searching with an urgent problem.

How do I get reviews when customers are embarrassed? Ask anyway, and tell them a first name or initials is fine. Many are relieved enough to leave one.
